Fred Benjamin Wegner
October 25, 1938 - December 9, 2016
Fred Benjamin Wegner, age 78, of Kingsland passed away Friday,
December 9, 2016 at his home.
He was born October 25, 1938 in Hereford, Texas, to Chris and
Martha Medley Wegner.
Fred was a member of Kingsland United Methodist Church,
Kingsland Masonic Lodge, Saeler's Hunting Club, served in the
United States Navy and also served on the Cleveland County
Quorum Court for several years.
He worked as an electrician for Boeing Aerospace all across the
country in missile testing and development before returning to
Kingsland.
Fred and his wife owned and operated Saeler's Grocery in
Kingsland for twenty-four years before retiring.
He was a family man, who was very much loved and respected.
Mr. Wegner was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers,
Chris H. and Bobby Wegner.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Jo Granderson
Wegner of Kingsland; three daughters, Christi (Greg Herron)
Wegner of Rison, Leisa (Stan) Hobson of Fordyce, Wendy
(Keith) James of Kingsland; one sister, Lucy Gillespie of Tulsa,
Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Heidi (John Ashcraft) Rowland,
Cody (Brooks) Rowland, Brittany Hobson; three
step-grandchildren, Chris (Jordan) Herron, Kyle Herron, Devin
Herron; four great grandchildren, Mason Long, Dawson Ashcraft,
Zak Whittington, Sophia Rowland; one step-great grandchild,
Dani Beth Herron.
